3 Steps to a Better MCAT Score
The Medical College Admissions Test (“MCAT”) can be mastered, and at Top Test Prep we know how. The MCAT is an exhausting, tricky, and difficult exam – when you take the MCAT, you’ll be competing against some of the brightest students in the country. Follow these tips to get the best score possible:
1) Solve problems. Practice is the key to perfection. Test your knowledge of the material by consistently working problems. Be sure you are able to apply the concepts that you have learned to both passage-based and ordinary multiple-choice questions. Be sure, when you are carrying out calculations, that you’re able to take the problem from start to finish without looking at the solutions manual.
2) Take practice exams. This is the single best way to diagnose your weaknesses, so that you’re able to spend extra time on the areas that you are struggling with. Always take practice exams under timed and proctored conditions, and ensure that your nearby environment simulates testing conditions as closely as possible. These practice exams will also help you to learn valuable time management skills that will increase your score on the exam.
3) Get a tutor. A good tutor can help to reinforce your weak areas and show you strategies to tackle the hardest questions on the MCAT. They can also give you the individualized attention that you need, showing you important concepts that frequently appear on the MCAT, the best way to memorize the vast amount of material that can be tested, and explain the questions that you have trouble understanding. We can help – give us a call at 800-501-PREP to reserve your tutor today.
